Community Health Workers are strengthening health equity in Virginia

Every day, community health workers build trust within populations facing significant barriers to good health to help people navigate the health system and access other needed resources. Community health workers are frontline public health workers who live and work in the communities they serve. They:

Community Health Workers for a Healthy Virginia

The Community Health Workers for a Healthy Virginia project is powered by the Institute for Public Health Innovation and its partners, with funding through the CDC. IPHI builds partnerships across sectors to help strengthen and enhance health service systems and shape public policy in Virginia, the District of Columbia and Maryland. CHWs are a key part of IPHI’s strategy to strengthen public health outcomes.

The ongoing project is funding community health workers across Virginia to improve the health and well-being of communities in the Commonwealth.
